Akshardham Temple, Ahmedabad

History

Gandhi Ashram

It is located near Vadaj on the tranquil stretch of the Sabarmati River. It was founded by Mahatma Gandhi in 1915. The historical importance of this place makes it an important tourist destination. It is the place from where Gandhi ji begin his historical Dandi March in 1930 to protest British government against the imposed Salt Tax. Here one can see the belongings and teachings of Gandhi ji. Sidi Sayed Mosque
